Excel Dimensioning Tools for Structural Engineers & Planners
We have created a free Excel-based dimensioning tool for main-to-secondary beam connections using RICON Stainless Steel / RICON /RICON S connectors, as well as a dimensioning tool for MEGANT for main-to-secondary beam and secondary beam-to-column connections. We are making these available to you free of charge for download under the following conditions.
Important: Enable Macros in Excel
The MEGANT dimensioning tool is available in German (DE), English (EN), French (FR), and Spanish (ES).
Note for engineering use: Macros are required for the full functionality of the tools. Please enable macros in Microsoft Excel before using the files.
Setup Guide (Windows “Unblock”)
Please follow these steps after downloading:
- Download and save: Save the Excel template file .xltm locally on your hard drive.
- Open file properties: Right-click the file and select Properties.
- Security: Under General → Security, check
Unblock. Click Apply, then OK. - Open and save: Open the file in Excel and save it under a new name to ensure all settings are applied correctly.

Terms of Use for the Dimensioning Tools
1. Grant of Use
The provision of the present software program is made available for free use, subject to revocation at any time. You undertake to use the program exclusively for the purposes of your company, limited to customers who use products of Knapp GmbH. We reserve the right to change or modify the program at any time; however, we are under no obligation to further develop or improve the program. You undertake not to reproduce, modify, or pass on the program to third parties.
2. Purpose and Responsibility
The program serves solely as a working aid and therefore provides only a calculation basis, in particular for structural components; it cannot under any circumstances replace a structural verification of the calculated results by an authorized professional. You therefore undertake, when using this program, to either have the calculated results structurally verified by an authorized professional and/or to inform any third parties to whom the calculation results are provided that no structural verification has been carried out.
3. Revocation of Use
We are entitled to revoke the granted right of use at any time without stating reasons. In the event of revocation, you undertake to immediately cease using the program and to destroy both the program and any copies that may have been made. You must also provide a binding declaration that no further use will take place.
4. Disclaimer of Liability
Any warranty and liability claims arising from the use of the program are excluded. We shall not be liable for any damages resulting from use, program errors, or consequential damages (e.g. software defects, loss of use).
5. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
Austrian law shall apply exclusively, excluding the provisions of international private law. Place of jurisdiction is the court with subject-matter jurisdiction in 3300 Amstetten, Austria.
