The University of Minnesota Duluth has formed a strategic partnership with KNAPP in the creation of a rapidly deployable ready-to-assemble housing system.
The idea:
To create a structure that can be rapidly deployed using " flatpak" technology. This was made possible by using KNAPP connectors WALCO V60 and WALCO V80. Another feature is the capability of disassembly and relocation.
Technical Innovation:
The componentized modular building elements form a complete self-contained shippable package. The unit is complete with mechanical and functional features. Because of the WALCO V60/V80-System it can be repackaged and reused for multiple deployments.
Advantages:
House^3 provides a series of innovations resulting in a high quality, tight tolerance structure where factory automation leads to breakthroughs in logistical efficiencies and with the WALCO V60/V80-System a rapid site-assembly. |
