Friedrich Knapp, the founder and owner of Knapp GmbH Euratsfeld, celebrates his 70th birthday! Born in Pöchlarn, he has been developing mechanical connectors for the wood-processing industry for about 35 years.

It all started in 1983 with the idea to create a simple connector for furniture and interior design that is invisible and self-tightening after being installed. CHAMP, the two-piece orange connector, was developed from this idea and has proved its worth a million times. It has become a model for all other products. Being a master carpenter, Mr. Knapp further developed a variety of connectors for furniture, window and facade construction, as well as timber construction with a bearing capacity of 500 kN and more. With his creation of GIGANT, the invisible connector for timber construction, Mr. Knapp revolutionized the cross grained wood screwing.

For more than 30 years KNAPP, which has become a familiy business, remains the expert in connecting systems when it comes to the wooden buildings, and holds numerous patents.
